This image of comet C/1996 B2 (Hyakutake) was taken on March 21, 1996, by
Erich Kolmhofer and Herbert Raab near Linz, Austria, using a 225mm f/2.0
Schmidt Camera. It is a ten minute exposure (1:19 - 1:29 UT) on hypered
TP 6415 film. The field shown here is about 6.2 degrees wide, and north
is up. The "wave" in the comet's tail, which can be seen left of the center
of the image 96B2-20.JPG, taken about 24 hours before, has developed into
a cloud-like feature, right of the center of this image.
